Funding FOSS in Germany: Prototype Fund & Beyond

October 11, 2026 - 13:00 - 16:00 CEST - EuroZig Discord

Are you working on a Zig open source project, or have an idea for one, and wondering how to get paid for it? Join us for this online event about public funding for free and open source software in Germany.

Agenda

1. Short introduction to FOSS funding
   • Prototype Fund (main focus)
   • Sovereign Tech Fund
   • NLnet
2. Experience exchange — share what you learned applying to these or other funding sources
3. Project pitches — present an idea for a new project, or an existing one you want to apply for funding with
4. Group discussions — if several people are interested in the same topic, they team up and discuss it together
5. Next steps — we decide if and when to hold a follow-up meeting, e.g. a writing workshop where we review each other’s grant proposals

If you want to join the event, please sign up for free. This is for us to gauge the interest in this event.
